Restore
Choose a disk recovery method using the required snapshot. Check the VM, volume and date before proceeding.
Safest method for preserving the original VM
Use Separate VM from a template to validate recovery in another instance while preserving the original disks. Configure a controlled network for the new VM before starting it.
| Method | How it works |
|---|---|
| Revert to Snapshot | Replaces current volume contents with the snapshot. Subsequent changes on that disk are lost. |
| Create a new disk | Creates a volume from the snapshot and attaches it as ROOT after detaching the current disk. The original disk remains separate. |
| Separate VM from a template | Creates a template from the snapshot and a new instance for restore validation, preserving the original VM. |
Keep the VM powered off during rollback or ROOT replacement. Start it only after the operation completes, then verify the restored system and data.
