TSDATA CLOUD / BACKUP
VM backups
Organize protection for your virtual machine volumes with manual and scheduled snapshots.
Disk snapshots
Start from the VM: open its details, go to Volumes and select the required disk. From there, take a snapshot or configure a recurring schedule.
| Option | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Take Snapshot | Create a manual snapshot, for example before changing a disk. |
| Recurring Snapshots | Schedule hourly, daily, weekly or monthly snapshots and set the retention count. |
| View Volume Snapshots | Review volume snapshots and check operation results. |

Plan VM protection
Identify which disks hold the operating system and application data. Configure a schedule for each required volume and choose a time, time zone and retention appropriate to your operation.
This guide uses volume actions. The VM's Instance Snapshots option is a separate feature and is not part of this procedure.
Restore
Explore the restore methods:
- Revert to Snapshot: apply the snapshot to the current volume.
- Create a new disk: create a volume from the snapshot and use it as the VM ROOT disk.
- Separate VM from a template: safest method for preserving the original VM and validating recovery in another instance.
